Democrats Take Control of the House With Victories in the Suburbs

Democrats are gaining ground in their fight for control of the House, picking up key seats in Florida, Pennsylvania and Minnesota.

As Election Day drew near, Democrats were increasingly confident, predicting they would pick up at least the 23 seats needed for the majority on the strength of voter enthusiasm, robust fundraising and unusually fresh candidates.

Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee, has won election to US Senate from Utah, as expected.

"Today is more than about Democrats and Republicans".

Sanders' interview came before Democrats were projected to win the House, and at that time pointed out that the races were still early.

"It's a huge moment and victory for the president", Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters at the White House Tuesday night. It's a long night to go.

The California Democrat doesn't think Americans fully understand the significance of the speaker's job - which, after the vice president, is next in line to the White House.

West Coast results were still coming. By noon, polls were open in every state, including Hawaii and Alaska. Incumbent Comptroller Tom DiNapoli easily won another term. And Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, another potential 2020 contender, also won her race.

Almost 40 percent of voters cast their ballots to express opposition to the president, according to AP VoteCast, the national survey of the electorate, while one-in-four said they voted to express support for Trump.

While a Democratic House would block some of Trump's plans, a GOP majority enables the president to continue restocking the American judiciary with judges that rule according to the Constitution rather than social agendas.

"We need to keep the Senate Republican to support the agenda of Donald Trump", he said. He's campaigned for dozens of candidates at all levels of government.

Republican Whip Steve Scalise said the president's rallies were building momentum and with the economy a selling point, he predicted his party would retain a slim majority.

Google working on fix for Pixel 3 memory management problems
But the big story with the updated Pixels isn't necessarily their looks - it's what you can do with the new phones. For now at least, you'll need a Pixel 3 or 3 XL to take full advantage of the history feature.

Trump spent the day at the White House, tweeting, making calls, monitoring the races and meeting with his political team.

Although moderate Republicans who remain in the House may view the result as an indictment of Trump's strategy of focusing relentlessly on illegal immigration in the final stretch of the campaign, they will be a small minority.

But Fox News' Decision Desk projection that Democrats will now control of the House gives hope to liberals who want to continue the Russian Federation investigation, and even introduce articles of impeachment against the president. In addition, 36 states and three territories are holding gubernatorial elections. Voters reported waiting up to three hours to vote. In a hectic, short legislative session, they hustled to put legislation on Gov. Jay Inslee's desk, including bills that had stalled for years.

"We're seeing the ramifications of Democrats on these committees who have this kind of power", Melber said.

As Pelosi played a starring role in GOP attack ads against them, several Democrats said flat-out they would not vote for her as leader.

Democrats, meanwhile, prioritized a different message in the midterms and heavily emphasized promises to safeguard health care for voters, including protecting individuals with pre-existing conditions. Pelosi says that as few as 25,000 votes nationwide could swing the results.

Health care was at the forefront of IN voters' minds, with nearly 3 IN 10 naming it as the most important issue facing the nation IN this year's midterm elections - including 30-year-old Cordell Chaney, who works at a Fort Wayne wire and cable products manufacturer.

"Lavrov said he is hopeful that the election will help stabilize domestic politics in the U.S".

And Rep. Adam Schiff, slated to become chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, has vowed to probe alleged Trump campaign-Russia collusion.

He said, "All the accusations that we will be meddling in today's elections turned out to be empty statements".
