3 minutes, 15 seconds after liftoff from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 4:47 a.m. EDT, something went wrong with the Soyuz rocket bringing crew members to the International Space Station.

USA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Alexei Ovchinin were heading to the International Space Station when they had to make an emergency landing due to failure of the booster rockets.

As a result, Russian Federation has launched a criminal investigation into the rocket failure.

Search and rescue crews retrieved the crew, returning them to Zhezkazgan, Kazakhstan.

American astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin are in Russia, following Thursday's emergency landing shortly after take-off. "During the separation, the first and second stages came into contact", Krikalev told reporters.

Saint-Jacques spent time in a Soyuz capsule in August, as part of a disaster training simulation. The accident has caused all launches of the Soyuz-FG rocket that are now planned to be put on hold until the exact cause of the failure becomes clear. A state commission has been established to investigate the incident.

USA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Alexey Ovchinin parachuted to the ground safely in their capsule after a booster on the Soyuz MS-10 spacecraft failed, NASA and Russia's space agency said. The results of the probe are expected to be out by the end of the month.

With deal on judges, Senate goes home for the elections
Among Democrats, negative impressions of Kavanaugh have jumped 30 points, from 56% in August to 86% now. The woman, now a university professor, was soon joined by two other women who had charges of their own.

This week's rocket launch on a Roscosmos Soyuz rocket didn't exactly go as planned.

Officials said the two felt fine and did not need any treatment.

Hague and Ovchinin were to join the current three-person crew on the International Space Station to perform research experiments. "Both are ready to fly again", he said.

In a bar in the small town of Peabody, Kan., in the middle of the night, astronaut Nick Hague's family huddled around television screens.

"To keep space separate from the political environment has been our tradition and we want to keep that", said Bridenstine. "Everybody is alive", Rogozin wrote. But the Russian space agency also considered the possibility of sabotage. Roscosmos sent more than 70 rocket engines back to production lines to replace faulty components. Rogozin accused Musk on state television last week of selling seats on SpaceX at below cost to undermine Russia's market share.

An Orthodox priest who blessed the Russian Soyuz rocket before lift-off has become the main source of mockery on social media after the launch ended in an emergency landing.

Russia's TASS news agency said the capsule carrying the two men separated from the troubled rocket safely. Russia's Investigative Committee has also opened a criminal investigation.

The U.S. and other nations have depended on Russian Federation to carry astronauts to the ISS since the retirement of the Space Shuttle program in 2011. "In this case, the protocols in place worked".
