Donald Trump Jr. ‘Fixes’ Nike Ad With His Father’s Face

NFL star takes Colin Kaepernick shots He’s ‘ducking’

Shares of Nike tumbled early Tuesday on worries the sport goods giant's new marketing campaign around Colin Kaepernick could harm sales.

According to San Francisco based Edison Trends, online sales for Nike are up a whopping 31 percent in the period from Labor Day Sunday through Tuesday, compared to 17 percent increase in the same period previous year.

Nike recently created a commercial in celebration of the 30th anniversary of its "Just Do It" ad campaign.

Merritt, who served multiple times in Iraq and Afghanistan, also took issue with the slogan accompanying Kaepernick's ad - "Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything". Some fans responded to Kaepernick's sponsorship deal by cutting or burning gear with Nike's signature swoosh logo.

'In fact, Nike sales grew 31 per cent from Sunday through Tuesday over Labor Day this year, besting 2017's comparative 17 per cent increase'.

At a rally in Montana last week, Trump said he didn't think Nike's endorsement deal with Kaepernick was appropriate.

The unveil incited a storm of reaction, including from USA president Donald Trump who tweeted his objection, saying, "What was Nike thinking?".

Los Angeles Rams: Grades for Week 1 against the Raiders
But contract talks never got going, and so Mack was shipped off for the best offer out there. "Very disappointing", Gruden said after the Raiders were outscored 23-0 after halftime.

'I don't like what Nike did.

But Nike also received some praise for including Kaepernick and a reference to the contentiously debated protests in the campaign, which also features star athletes such as LeBron James and Serena Williams. "If Nike really does believe that law enforcement in this country is unfair and biased, I think we will look around".

Trump's comments came just as the National Football League opened its new season.

Nine Line Apparel introduced the new line in direct response to sports clothing brand Nike's decision to use Kaepernick, who sparked a wave of hugely divisive NFL national anthem protests in 2016, as the new face of its iconic "Just Do It" campaign.

On Friday, the morning after the full version of the Nike ad played during the Philadelphia Eagles v Atlanta Falcons NFL season opener, the president asked: "What was Nike thinking?"

Political analysts have predicted that Trump will seek to keep the anthem issue alive as he attempts to energize his base ahead of crucial mid-term elections in November.
