Marco Asensio hails Spain after Croatia thrashing

Luis Enrique shouts instructions to his players during a training session on Monday afternoon

Spain coach Luis Enrique Martínez was delighted with his team's 6-0 win over Croatia on Tuesday in the Nations League.

Spain's two wins out of two in the Nations League see them top League A Group 4 with six points.

Croatia, whose side contained just four of those who started the World Cup final in Moscow this July - defender Domagoj Vida and midfielders Luka Modric, Ivan Rakitic and Ivan Perisic - had actually started the game the stronger but now have to regroup before facing England in October.

Asensio, who was not among the starters against England, also set up Rodrigo's goal early in the second half with a ideal through ball behind the defence.

Enrique took over Spain after the team's elimination against Russian Federation in the round of 16 of the World Cup.

The 2018 World Cup runners-up continued to pile the pressure on Spain inside the first quarter of an hour, but were yet to get clear goal scoring opportunities.

Apple insider betrays nearly every launch set for new iPhone event
The upgrades will mark the most-significant changes to the Apple Watch since the product was launched in 2014. Last year, Apple previewed a charging mat called AirPower, but never mentioned it again.

Spain boss Luis Enrique is set to give Iago Aspas another place in the starting XI following his impressive display against the Three Lions at Wembley.

The two teams last met at Euro 2016 when Croatia came away with a 2-1 win after overturning Spain's lead.

Lukaku made it 2-0 to Belgium minutes later, firing a close-range shot on the rebound that was judged to have crossed the line before Birkir Saevardsson managed to clear.

Iceland manager Erik Hamren has now lost his opening two games as manager, conceding nine goals in the process, leaving the Nordic nation's reputation for a miserly defence in tatters.

More importantly, they are off to a winning start under Luis Enrique, with their performances in Elche and against England at Wembley a stark reminder of the quality they possess, which seemed to go missing in their tempestuous World Cup campaign.

In contrast the Belgians poured forward, with Thomas Meunier hitting the foot of the post midway through the second half, and Lukaku blazing a late shot over the bar before steering the ball past Halldorsson to complete the rout.
