Trump criticizes British PM Theresa May over Brexit deal

Donald Trump just touched down in the UK and protests including the flying of an orange blimp depicting Trump as a crying baby have been planned for the duration of his visit. The President's itinerary appears to have been scheduled with the demon

Even Theresa May had to respond by saying: "I'm very clear that retweeting from Britain First was the wrong thing to do". But I told her how to do it.

Trump added that May's "soft" blueprint for the U.K.'s future dealings with the European Union would probably "kill" any future trade deals with the United States.

British politicians rounded on Trump for his intervention, with one minister asking "Where are your manners, Mr President?" and the opposition Labour party calling him "extraordinarily rude".

Gardner, who works with refugees as part of her doctoral research at the London School of Economics, said Trump's speeches about refugees and immigrants are "a very unsafe line of rhetoric to be normalized".

When Trump spoke to the British tabloid yesterday, he slammed May while threatening to revoke a U.S. -U.K. trade deal over her handling of Brexit.

Trump conceded that the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation meeting in Brussels earlier this week at times got "testy" over his demands that European nations increase their spending on defense, but he said it ended with "more unity" and "more spirit" and that Putin would see those headlines, not ones that talked about the alliance's divisions.

He also told the tabloid that he'd shared advice with May during Britain's negotiations with the European Union and she ignored it.

He said Britain was "a pretty hot spot right now with a lot of resignations".

"I would love to say that I think this is going to be a hugely successful visit but I think it's going to be very hard", he said at a pro-Trump gathering in parliament.

On Thursday, May invoked Winston Churchill as she addressed Trump and business leaders at a black-tie dinner at Blenheim Palace, the 18th century country house where Churchill was born.

The US president said he would have done the Brexit negotiations "much differently" and claimed the Prime Minister did not listen to his advice, in an interview with The Sun.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders later told reporters Trump was "thankful for the wonderful welcome" he received in Britain.

Trump is scheduled to leave for Scotland Friday evening.

President Trump said the British people "voted to break it up, so I imagine that " s what they " ll do" and "Brexit is Brexit". "They are just a lobbyist for Amazon", he said.

Trump conflated immigration and terrorism in the interview, and he said that Khan, London's mayor, had done a "terrible job". The prime minister will host him for dinner at Blenheim Palace, the ancestral home of Churchill near Oxford, and then for the meeting at the prime ministerial country retreat Chequers, north of London.

Police are expecting more than 100 protests across the country, including two large demonstrations in London today. There will also be a "Stop Trump" march in central London expected to be attended by thousands.

Protests took place outside the Blenheim grounds in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, with several hundred demonstrators waving banners and placards reading Dump Trump, Not Welcome Here, Protect Children Not Trump and Keep Your Tiny Hands Off My Pussy!

While tens of thousands of protesters staged demonstrations across the United Kingdom against Mr Trump's views and politics, he met the Queen at Windsor Castle as the official part of his whirlwind visit to the United Kingdom drew to a close.
