Donald Trump visit: How Americans living in the United Kingdom feel

Thousands of protestors are set to line the streets during Trump’s visit More

"I'm going to a pretty hot spot right now, a lot of resignations".

Earlier this week Mr Trump said it was "up to the people" whether the prime minister stayed on after two cabinet ministers resigned over her Brexit policy.

"Ironically, it's also standing in solidarity with those people who voted for Trump, who ultimately their lives will be affected negatively by this...because they've been lied to, they've been manipulated".

"So I would imagine that's what they will do, but maybe they will take a little bit of a different route".

When asked about the threat of mass demonstrations he said: "I think it's fine".

Police estimated there were about 1,000 people demonstrating near the palace, the birthplace of wartime Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

Trump has always been a supporter of Brexit and has expressed enthusiasm for a wide-ranging trade deal with Britain after it leaves the European Union, something heralded by Brexit supporters as being one of the great benefits of exiting the bloc.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan, who signed off on the so-called "baby Trump" blimp, defended the decision Thursday, arguing the protests were not anti-American but emblematic of free speech.

It comes just days after the president declined to say whether Mrs May should remain in post, declared he had "always liked" Boris Johnson, who quit as foreign secretary over the Chequers agreement, and described the United Kingdom as being in "turmoil".

May is trying to unify her deeply divided Conservative Party behind her Brexit plans with some of her own lawmakers openly speaking of a leadership challenge.

Wimbledon 2018 -- Angelique Kerber advances to final
There were no drawn-out points in the early going, no lengthy baseline exchanges, essentially because Ostapenko wouldn't allow it. In the first set, the experienced Kerber broke twice while the only break-point Ostapenko earned was when she was leading 3-2.

Mrs May will be looking to improve her often publicly strained relationship with the U.S. president as she pushes for a post-Brexit trade deal with America.

It was during that trip to Washington that she invited him to the UK.

A YouGov/ITV Tonight poll released on Thursday found there is "broad support" for Trump among Britons. "If a balloon flying over London makes people laugh, I think that's absolutely worth it", she says.

"The United States commitment to North Atlantic Treaty Organisation is very strong", he said.

This is when huge protests will be held across the city, with 50,000 people expected to turn up on Friday afternoon - parading to Trafalgar Square through central London.

But trip planners may go out of their way to shield Mr. Trump from viewing another aspect of the greeting: an oversized balloon depicting the president as an angry baby in a diaper that will be flown from Parliament Square during what are expected to be massive gatherings of protesters opposed to the USA leader's presence.

But Owen Jones, a left-wing journalist and lead organiser of Britain's "Stop Trump" protests, disagreed.

Mrs May will host Mr Trump and his wife Melania at a lavish dinner at Blenheim Palace this evening.

The two leaders will hold talks the following day at Chequers, the 16th-century manor house which is the prime minister's official country residence which will focus on Russian Federation, trade, Brexit and Middle East.
