Sensex, Nifty open in green ahead of monetary policy announcement

Sensex zooms over 330 points Nifty re-claims 10,200 in opening trade

Benchmark equity indices on Friday finished flat after a day of sedate trading.

The apex bank projected CPI inflation for 2018-19 to stand at 4.7-5.1 percent in first half of 2018-19 and 4.4 percent in second half, including the HRA impact for central government employees, with risks tilted to the upside.

The 30-share index, which had gained almost 400 points in opening trade, made further headway to quote 577.73 points, or 1.75%, higher at 33,596.80 at closing.

The broader NSE Nifty inched up 6.45 points, or 0.06 percent, to 10,331.60.
